Nokia has been showing off a type of handset that can be
controlled by bending and twisting it. The phone was publicly introduced in London during the Nokia World 2011 exhibit and the phone is called
Nokia Kinetic. During the said event, the phone models Lumia 710 and 800 were
also launched in the market where the operating system is Windows 7.
The Head of Design Tapani Jokinen, showed to the media how
bendy and twisted the phone is. He opened applications, photos, music, and other
options from bending and twisting it. You can select, zoom and
between options by bending the phone. It looks cool and awesome just like
playing with it. Currently, it is available as a prototype.

Here, watch this device demo from The Verge as they had the
chance to touch and navigate the phone.
If you could notice from the video, it's thin and in order to get to go up or down you need to twist the top left and bottom right portion of the phone or the other way around. The specs and features of this phone is not yet available, aside from the description of most who was able to test it for themselves, they say it's pretty flexible and has a bendable nature. A plus for this phone is its water proof feature. So expect that it is going to work fine while you are under water. Other expected features from Nokia Kinetic device is to operate the phone without seeing it and operating it while wearing gloves. These technical features from the prototype phone of Nokia would indeed make them another buzz in mobile phone industry.
I have used a Nokia device for years already and one thing I love about their phones is its user-friendly in nature. I hope this one is the same. After reading various articles about this Nokia phone, I was
not surprised at all. Anytime soon, there will be iPads and tablets that can be
rolled or folded. Technology is ever changing. It’s actually a good sign that man
does not stop from learning and discovering new things and stuffs to make this
world comfortable to live at. I just hope that these devices and other
appliances are eco-friendly, things that will not only make an impact in our
lives but also to our environment. It is sometimes the sad thing about
innovation and changes. They change for the better of one aspect but they do
not think of the other aspects that might be affected, negatively.
Anyway, kudos to Nokia and the people behind this new device
that would awe the mobile phone enthusiasts.
